Four members of a family, including two children, were killed in a fire that broke out in their house in Delhi on Friday morning.

Three others are seriously injured in the fire accident and are being treated at a hospital.

According to the reports, the mishap happened at a house in Dilshad Garden area of Seemapuri, in north Delhi, at about 3 a.m.

Four of the five-member family choked to death due to smoke after fire broke out. The fifth member Mona Verma, with 40 per cent burn injuries, is admitted at GTB hospital. 

The cause of the blaze was an electrical short-circuit in the garrage of three-storey building. Nine motorbikes and a scooter parked at the garage were also damaged.

The family celebrated the birthday of their 12-year-old daughter just hours before the mishap.
