It was a cloudy morning here with the possibility of rain on Wednesday, the weather office said.
Delhi on Tuesday night recorded 24.6 mm rainfall, it said.
"Rain, thunderstorm or duststorm is likely to occur here by the end of the day (Wednesday)," an India Meteorological Department official said.
People felt some relief from the rising temperatures in the past few days as the mercury dipped overnight following rain in some parts of the national capital. The temperature was expected to go down further.The maximum temperature was expected to hover around 35 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 20 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature on Tuesday was 36.3 degrees Celsius and the minimum was recorded at 21.8 degrees Celsius.
