Rain lashes NCR region Last Updated : 10 Mar 2017 06:02:51 PM IST (file photo)
The national capital region (NCR) experienced sudden showers on Friday afternoon, a day after light showers saw the mercury drop perceptibly.
The weatherman said similar weather is expected on Saturday, but predicted a dry Holi on Monday.
"There will be rainfall tomorrow as well. But the sky will become clear from Sunday onwards. And there are no chances of rainfall on Holi," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The sudden rainfall is due to the Western Disturbances -- storm systems originating from the Caspian Sea and moving across the Afghanistan-Pakistan region which cause rain and snowfall in the Indian subcontinent's north-west.
On Thursday evening, light showers saw the mercury dip by 9 degrees Celsius.IANS For Latest Updates Please-
