For the 6th time, Nitish Kumar took oath as Bihar Chief Minister on Thursday and this time with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as a partner of his Janata Dal-United. Sushil Kumar Modi took oath as deputy CM.
Just hours after resigning from the post of CM, Nitish Kumar once again formed a government in the state and this time with the support of the BJP and the NDA.
"My decision is in Bihar's interest and for its development," Nitish said after being sworn in as Bihar CM."Development will be a priority, will take Bihar to greater heights," said Sushil Modi after being sworn-in as Bihar Deputy CM.
The oath ceremony took place at Raj Bhawan in Patna at 10 am on Thursday.
With this, Nitish Kumar ended a 20-month-long Mahagathbandhan ot the Grand Alliance with Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD that defeated the BJP in 2015.
Kumar gave his resignation as Bihar CM late on Wednesday on the issue of corruption charges against his Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav -- son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad.
