He was 78.
Father of Saamana Group Editor Rashmi U. Thackeray, he was an honorary director of the same company.A reputed businessman, who was also a philanthropist and social worker from Dombivali in Thane, Patankar breathed his last at Criticare Hospital, Andheri - where he was admitted a few days ago, a Shiv Sena leader said.His funeral was performed at the Shivaji Park Crematorium here this evening in the presence of Thackeray, his son and Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray, and other family members.Besides, a large number of cabinet ministers, government officials, party workers and other admirers were also present on the occasion.Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Nationalist Congress Party leader and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, NCP MP Supriya Sule, state Congress President and Minister Balasaheb Thorat and other prominent leaders have condoled the demise of Patankar.IANS Mumbai For Latest Updates Please-
