When the Indian Premier League was first started in 2008 there were critics who wondered weather it will sustain in India. But now into the seventh year, the tournament despite the controversies remained intact. In- fact the IPL brand grew bigger. And IPL today is India's truly global sports league that has wowed fans and players alike over the years. But when one mentions IPL then, one man cannot be ever forgotten for his superlative efforts in making what IPL is today.-- Lalit Modi. The founder and former IPL chairman and commissioner was truly daring to Introduce the franchise based football style league. And he conceived and executed it with awesome success. It is ironic that though he is longer associated with the League he created but his shadow always remains. IPL was Lalit Modi and today even after seven years it very much remains that way.
