Sperm cells are excellent swimmers

Sperm cells swim long distance against current to reach destination

A new study finds tghat sperm cells are efficient at swimming against a current and travel long distances, through difficult terrain, to reach an egg to fertilise it. Researchers from the University of Cambridge and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have identified the physical mechanisms which may allow sperm to navigate inside the human body and stay on course through a variety of environments.
