Tight security for Jagannath Rath Yatra

Odisha Police has arranged for a thick security cover in Puri by engaging as many as 6,500 personnel for the annual Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra this year. The Yatra begins on June 29. The police has also arranged for air and coastal surveillance. "The Indian Coast Guard will keep a vigil in the sea while aviation authorities have been urged to ensure that no flights operate on the skies of Puri during the festival," said a senior police officer.
