It was screened at the Minerva in Mumbai on August 15,1975. The hall was packed and the curiosity was more because the producer had had a battle with the censors who had frowned at the depiction of the revenge saga of a police commissioner who hires two crooks to terminate the atrocities of a dacoit and relieve an entire village of his frequent terror attacks to loot the granaries and homes of the villagers. The censors did not approve of the violence, especially the climax where the retired police commissioner whose arms are cut off and left to mourn the massacre of his family by the dacoit takes over from the crooks and unleashes his vendetta by attacking the dacoit with his feet .
