Model Anushka make acting debut

Model Anushka Ranjan will quit modelling to focus on her Bollywood career. The 24 year-old model is about to make her acting debut in 'Wedding Pulav' and has announced she plans to turn her back on the fashion industry and pursue a career in films. Anushka told media persons: "I have to quit the modelling industry now because it is really not possible to continue modelling while you are doing films. They are two completely different backgrounds." The star, who is the daughter of film producer Shashi Ranjan, continued to defend her decision because she doesn't believe she can work in both industries. She said: "Mostly all the model-turned-actresses have not gone back to modelling; be it Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma or Priyanka Chopra. It goes like that. Modelling and films cannot go hand in hand."
