Birds have landed: Rafale fighter jets arrive in India

In a big boost for the IAF's combat capability, the Rafale aircraft finally touched down at Haryana's Ambala Air Force Station Ambala on July 29, 2020. The five French Rafale fighter jets landed after a 7,000-km flight from France which included an overnight pit stop in UAE and midair refueling. It was one of the most awaited events and surely has made the nation proud. Welcoming the jets in India, defence minister Rajnath Singh tweeted: "The Birds have landed safely in Ambala. The touch down of Rafale combat aircrafts in India marks the beginning of a new era in our Military History. These multirole aircrafts will revolutionise the capabilities of the @IAF_MCC." This picture of the Rafales was taken after it entered the Indian airspace. Among the 5 fighters, two are twin-seaters and the three are single-seaters.
