Amy Adams scraps interview

Amy Adams frustrated as her Today Show interview scrapped

Actress Amy Adams was left frustrated over Today Show's decision to scrap her interview, after she refused to speak about Sony hacking fiasco. Confidential information has been leaked in an cyber-attack on Hollywood movie studio Sony Pictures last month. The 40-year-old 'Big Eyes' actress said she told the broadcast in advance that she would not be comfortable talking about the fallout of the hacking but when she realised the channel was not budging she decided to give the interview, only to be informed later that it was cancelled, reported Us magazine. "I expressed that I was uncomfortable. I said I would rather not add my voice to this conversation. But it was clear they were drawing a hard line. That this would be part of the conversation." "I walked away from the conversation and went up to the room to do the interview. I assumed they were going to ask me about (the Sony hacking). And I was prepared for that, to whatever degree I was prepared," she said. Adams said she did not understand the reason behind scrapping of her appearance on the show. "I was confused and definitely frustrated. I still don't understand," she said. The Weinstein Company, which is distributing Big Eyes, also expressed disappointment with the situation. "We firmly stand behind Amy Adams. We've been lucky enough to have had her talents grace several of our films. We are certain her fellow actors and directors would all agree, she is nothing but the consummate professional both on and off set," a representative for the company said in a statement. 'Today', on its part, explained the decision in a statement. "As a news program, the Today show doesn't allow guests to put restrictions on interviews. In this case, after hours of discussion, we felt uncomfortable with the demands being made, and we determined the best course of action for all parties involved was to cancel the interview," the statement read.
