LIVE:Malaysian PM hints hijack of missing Flight MH 370 by terrorists Last Updated : 15 Mar 2014 07:22:48 PM IST LIVE:Malaysian PM hints hijack theory of missing Flight MH 370 by terrorists
Giving enough indication that the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 has been hijacked by the terrorists ,Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said that the communication system was deliberately switched off before diverting flight MH370 to an undisclosed location.
Malaysia's prime minister says investigators have not confirmed Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 was hijacked, but the plane's movements are consistent with the "deliberate action" of someone on board. Razak said new satellite data shows "with a high degree of certainty" that communications and reporting systems on MH370 were turned off before the plane reached the Malaysian peninsula.
Investigators suspect missing plane could have taken Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan corridor or Indonesia-South Indian
Ocean corridor: Razak said.
Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak confirmed that the plane's systems were gradually switched off and the plane with 239 people on board was deviated far to the west of its flight path off its intended course from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing .
Further added key evidence is that contact with the Boeing 777’s transponder stopped about a dozen minutes before a messaging system on the jet quit..
He says a short time later the aircraft's transponder was switched off.
"It then flew in a westerly direction back over Peninsular Malaysia before turning north-west," he said.
"Up until the point at which it left military primary radar coverage.
"These movements are consistent with deliberate action by someone on the plane."
Malaysian prime minister said we have suspended our search mission in South China Sea and the search has entered a new phase as authorities have shifted their focus west of the intended flight path to the Indian Ocean.
Razak said "We have followed every lead and this new information brings us to be step close to new findings that the communication system was deliberatly disabled by switching off the transponder .
Investigators have concluded that the persons who are travelling on stolen passports are having flying experience hijacked the missing Malaysia Airlines jet, switched off communication devices and steered it off-course, a Malaysian government official involved in the investigation said .
Chinese are facing terrorism from Uighur minority- Muslim separatist militants and have carried out a number of terrorist attacks in China.
The exact location of the plane still remains a mystery and the malaysian officials are eagerly waiting for the phone call from the hijackers as no demand has been made by them and motive is still unclear The official who was not permitted to speak to the media said that hijacking was no longer a theory.
The airplane was coming from Malaysia, which is a Muslim country, into China. Malaysian Muslims have a generally collective animosity toward non-Muslim Chinese people. Out of 227 passengers, 152 were from China.
So here the terror angle has been establised
The last coordinates on the military radar’s tracking system suggested the plane was flying toward India’s Andaman Islands, a chain of isles between the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal, they said. Waypoints are geographic locations, worked out by calculating longitude and latitude, that help pilots navigate along established air corridors.
But a series of electronic pings sent by the aircraft could help the search, which is shifting focus from the confines of the Gulf of Thailand and nearby waters to include the Indian Ocean on the western side of Malaysia.
Multinational array of ships and planes have been fanned to locate the Malaysian plane flight MH 370 with 239 people aboard that mysteriously disappeared from radar .
The Boeing 777’s communication with the ground was severed just under one hour into a flight March 8 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.Source: IANS, Other Agencies, Staff Reporters
