Chris Gayle smashed an unbeaten 92 before R Vinay Kumar's three-wicket burst helped Royal Challengers Bangalore eke out a close two-run win over Mumbai Indians in a thrilling Indian Premier League match in Bangalore on Thursday.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians win the toss and elected to field first against Royal Challengers Bangalore during their IPL season six campaign on Thursday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Hyderabad.

Both the sides are aiming to start their IPL6 campaign on winning note.

The star-studded Mumbai and RCB are hot favourite for this season's IPL trophy. But today's result will help both sides to chalk out strategy for future games.

With the presence of stars like, Chirs Gayle, Virat Kohli, TM Dilshan, AB de Villiers, RCB is expecting to exploit the home conditions. On the other hand, Ricky Ponting-led Mumbai Indiabns are most balanced side of this IPL.
