Remembering Madiba on his 98th b

Nelson Mandela was South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician, and philanthropist, who also served as President of South Africa for around 5 years. He mainly focused on abolition of 'Aparthied', which had been a legacy all over South Africa at that time. He Fought against racial discrimination and became country's first black chief executive, and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election. Mandela served 27 years in prison, initially on Robben Island, and later in Pollsmoor Prison and Victor Verster Prison. He created the Truth and Reconciliation Commission as well, to investigate past human rights abuses. Mandela was a controversial figure for much of his life.
