What makes the LGBT hopeful once again? On the eve of their great November parade an enthusiasm of sorts has been generated among them by what FM Arun Jaitley said. When there was no hope, after the Supreme Court observation, the community feels may be there is some hope still. And all major political parties, including the Congress and AAP are claiming to be with them. Every year, the last Sunday of November brought happiness to those who are somewhere unacceptable to our Indian society. The same thing happened on 29 November also. The heart of the Delhi, Cannaught place drapped into the rainbow colours when hundreds of people took to the streets marching forward to demanding equality of gender and sexuality as part of the Delhi Queer Pride. This year’s Queer Pride was not only about the LGBT -- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender community and the freedom they seek but also a march in solidarity to demand a whole range of freedoms that are under threat.
