A day of shame in Parliament's history

It was a new low in India's parliamentary history. The Lok Sabha witnessed use of pepper spray resulting in hospitalisation of three MPs following a ruckus over introduction of the Telangana bill after which 16 Andhra Pradesh MPs from Congress and TDP were suspended. Reacting to this most unfortunate incident Speaker Meira Kumar said the conduct of 'honourable' members of the House has "shamed the country and Parliament".
