SRK's Raees breaks Salman's R-Day record

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's 'Raees', also starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, has become the highest grosser film ever on Republic Day. After a fantastic day 1 collection of 20.42 cr on Wednesday, 'Raees' collected Rs 26.3 crore on Day 2. Thursday being the 68th Republic Day of India gave a further boost to this SRK's film and it earned a record-breaking Rs 26.3 crore. Till now, the record belonged to Salman Khan's Jai Ho which earned Rs 25 crore on Republic Day in 2014. In its first two days, 'Raees' has earned a total of Rs 46.72 crore at the box office. "#Raees is PHENOMENAL on Day 2. All set to pack a FAB total in its 5-day weekend. Wed 20.42 cr, Thu 26.30 cr. Total: ₹ 46.72 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
