A celeb can become a celeb using two different routes. Either he or she must be genuinely talented which can keep one in the news. Or else, the celeb must find a shortcut to fame a la Poonam Pandey or Sherlyn Chopra and hit the headlines without doing anything that is newsworthy because it deserves space and attention. Since the media is in constant pursuit because they attract eyeballs, a third possibility cannot be ignored though. What could have been dismissed as ordinary happenings in the lives of non-celebs become big news through exaggeration which is synonymous with distortion.
