Bollywood celebrities wished the 'Dabangg' star Salman Khan a happy and prosperous 47th birthday.
It has turned out to be one memorable year for the actor as his latest release 'Dabangg 2' is doing exceptionally well at the box office and has reportedly collected Rs 100.78 crores in just 6 days.
His Eid release 'Ek Tha Tiger' this year is already a member of Rs 100 crore club.
The actor, who was scheduled to appear before a magistrate's court today in connection with 2002 hit-and-run case, got a relief as the Metropolitan court granted him an exemption from appearing before it on his birthday.
Director brother Arbaaz Khan posted on Twitter, "A Happy Birthday Salman ! Wish you good health and happiness always. Thanks for being a great brother. Love you."
"Wishing Salman Khan the super duper star a very Happy Birthday and many more to come.. God bless!," posted Prabhudeva.
Karan Johar, who worked with Salman in 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', posted, "Happy birthday Salman Khan... May the force be with you...always!! Have a blessed year..."
It seems after the back-to-back success of 'Dabangg' and its sequel 'Dabangg 2', Salman's eccentric character Chulbul Pandey has become synonymous with his name.
His 'Dabangg' co-star Sonakshi Sinha wrote, "Happy birthday Pandeyji.
Actress Sonal Chauhan tweeted, "Here's wishing Pandey ji Salman Khan a rocking birthday!!! And a lot more happiness and success in the coming year."
"Salman Khan. Naam bahut sune hum tumhara... Happy B'day chulbul pandeyji (sic)," said co-star Sonu Sood.
"Happy B'day Salman Khan, many many happy returns of the day," posted Mallika Sherawat.
"Happy b'day Salman Khan ! Have a great one!," posted Divya Dutta.
"Happy birthday Salman Khan ... Simply the best !," said Neha Dhupia.
The birthday boy also took to Twitter to thank his fans and friends. He posted, "Thank you for all your wishes."
Fans converge at Bandra Court to catch a glimpse of Salman
Hundreds of fans of Bollywood actor Salman Khan turned up at the Bandra court Thursday to catch a glimpse of their favourite star who was summoned by a Magistrate for his involvement in a hit and run case.
Most people waited patiently in the compound of the court to see the actor.
Salman was asked to appear before a Metropolitan Magistrate on a complaint that he had allegedly delayed the trial in connivance with police.
A strong posse of policemen guarded the court and its precincts and did not allow Salman's fans to go upto court number 9, which is located on the first floor of the building in suburban Bandra.
Many fans of the actor stood on the bridge overlooking the court building while others waited at the two entrances apparently to say best of luck to the "Dabangg" hero.
The actor, however, did not come to the court although his two sisters Alvira and Arpita were spotted alongwith lawyer Dipesh Mehta.
Ahmed Patel, a diehard fan of Salman, told news agency that he was from Gujarat and had come here to meet his relatives. As he had read in newspapers that Salman was summoned today by the court he had come to meet the actor.
Raju Mehta, another fan of Salman, said he arrived at the court at 10 AM to get a vantage seat so that he could see the proceedings from a close distance. "I will come again on January 30 when the matter would be heard again," he said.
